What is PRF, and how is it obtained?
PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is the next-generation treatment of platelet concentrate. PRF contains platelet cytokines, growth factors, and cells that promote:
- Skin rejuvenation
- Hair growth
- Wound healing
Because PRF comes from your blood, it is 100% natural. Before your PRF facial, blood is drawn and placed inside a centrifuge, separating PRF from other blood components.
Using blood concentrates for aesthetic treatment is becoming increasingly popular in medical aesthetics to help men and women achieve a younger and fresher look. PRF is said to be the next step in the evolution of natural skin and hair rejuvenation.
What is a PRF facial?
Fibrin acts as a scaffold that forms in response to an injury in the body. This response produces growth factors. Injecting PRF into the face creates a controlled inflammatory response and initiates new cell growth and collagen production.
PRF facials release growth factors for up to one week, producing longer-term benefits by stimulating the stem cells to improve collagen and elastin in the skin. Once injected, PRF can:
- Fill facial folds and wrinkles
- Plump the hollows under the eyes and dark circles
- Improve skin tone and texture
